After certifying in Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy® in 1985, Sandy Dirks taught Myotherapy and performed administrative work at the prestigious Bonnie Prudden Schools in both Stockbridge MA and Tucson, AZ. She continues to teach Continuing Education courses for Massage Therapists, and is asked to speak on pain and tension relief through trigger point therapy and exercise for various professional groups. Sandy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from the University of Northern Iowa, and has been the Spa Coordinator at the Winding Stream since its planning stages. Sandy specializes in booking spa days for groups. She takes pride in arranging services for each group that make their day at the Stream relaxing, fun, and extraordinary.

Hayati Ozyildirim graduated from the Professional Cosmetology Institute in 2004, and has been a licensed Massage Therapist since 2005. He has been with the spa since its development and is State Licensed and Nationally Certified. Hayati has additional training in Trigger Point Therapy, and uses his expertise to help guests in their every day lives through increased mobility, relaxation, and well being. A native of Turkey, Hayati was raised in Germany and is proud of his American Citizenship. He brings an international mystique and professionalism to his treatments that make him one of the Spa’s most requested therapists.

Angela Seals previously studied Nursing at the Mercy College of Health Sciences and Marshalltown Community College. After discovering a desire to help people feel better, she redefined her purpose and graduated from La James International College in Johnston, IA as a State Licensed Massage Therapist. She has been practicing massage since 2006; most of that time at Winding Stream Spa. She has continued her education adding training in the area of Trigger Point Therapy and diverse massage techniques.

Nikki Poe graduated from La James International College in Iowa City, Iowa and was the top student in her class. She has been practicing Massage Therapy since November 2007, and has been with the Winding Stream Spa since 2009. Nikki is State Licensed and has special training in the Cupping Massage technique. Nikki became a massage therapist because of the growing popularity and a desire to pursue a career that would help people. Her personality and sense of humor make her popular with guests and staff alike.

Shannon Snodgrass graduated from the La James International College of Beauty in Johnston, IA as a Nail Technician in 2006; achieving dual licensure by adding Esthetics in 2007. She is one of the original members of the staff, having been with the Winding Stream since its inception. Shannon has received specialized training in Bioelements, Mirabella Make-Up, and Zoya-Qtica products/applications. First time clients often request Shannon because of her expertise; and find themselves returning as loyal, repeat guests because of the warmth and personality she expresses in her treatments.

Cassie Lacina has a Bachelor's Degree from Wartburg College where she specialized in Theatrical Make-Up. She graduated from the La James International College of Beauty Cedar Falls and Johnston IA locations with dual licensure in Esthetics and Nail Technology in 2006, and is also certified in Microdermabrasion and Reflexology. Cassie studied Skin Analysis at the International Dermal Institute; as well as continued her education with Mirabella Make-Up Techniques and the latest in Nail Technology. She has been an enthusiastic member of the Winding Stream since 2008.

Sara Johnson graduated from La James International College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She has been a State Licensed Cosmetologist since October of 2006. She also went to La James for Massage therapy, and graduated in May of 2007; but later chose to focus on her passion for Cosmetology. Sara has been working at the Winding Stream Spa since it opened in 2007. She became a Cosmetologist because she likes to meet new people and wants to make them feel good about themselves. She enjoys highlighting, haircutting, waxing, nail art and French tips.

Janice DeYoung has been a Spa Attendant with the Winding Stream since 2007, and brings over twenty years customer service experience in the retail industry to her position. Janice has traveled to exotic locales; scheduling spa treatments at exclusive resorts in Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Mexico; as well as during an international cruise. She uses these experiences to enhance and elevate her perspective; always raising the bar in her personal commitment to insure that Winding Stream guests receive world class service.

Jackie Pfrommer began at the Winding Stream as a Spa Attendant in 2009. She quickly found her calling in the industry and graduated with High Honors from the Salon Professional Academy in Ames, IA as a Licensed Massage Therapist. She plans to eventually continue her education with Esthetics and add Nail Technician soon after. Jackie enjoys working in the spa and using her expertise to help people experience a happier and healthier quality of life.

Brooke Stalzer graced the Winding Stream in the summer of 2010 at the opening of our new Hair Salon and performs hair and nail services as well as facials. She is a graduate of the Iowa School of Beauty in Marshalltown, is licensed as a Cosmetologist, and has received specialized training with SoColor and Color Sync lines. Brooke has a passion for performing hair coloring services, because she can utilize both expertise and creativity in meeting each guest’s individual needs. She truly enjoys her profession because it allows her to meet and interact with new guests and help make them feel attractive. This level of personal attention combined with her advanced product knowledge in the Kenra and Aquage hair care products make Brooke a highly requested technician with a loyal following.
